CI4G works with students, faculty and administrators in elementary, middle and high schools to help build respectful, responsible and safe communities. Our work includes in-school and after-school programs that focus on building and maintaining healthy interpersonal relationships, addressing technology-mediated communication issues, and developing leadership abilities.
Our guiding philosophy is that it takes ALL of our working together to reach our goals. To that end, CI4G has created the Aspire, Learn, and Lead conference, a half-day or day-long conference for students in grades K-12, and their parents, teachers, and administrators. Sessions can be customized to meet the needs of participating schools. Past conferences have included sessions that:
- Address respect, responsibility and safety in the context of preventing bullying and cyber abuse.
- Equip students with the tools they need to bolster their self-esteem and support their taking calculated risks, pursuing self-directed goals, and valuing their accomplishments.
- Coach high school juniors and seniors on the college application, essay, and interview processes, and provide strategies for determining their “distinguishing excellence.”
- Involve parents, teachers, and administrators in a dialogue about their role in helping youth navigate the relationship dynamics that underlie issues with new communication technologies.
